Behold I Stand at the Door and Knock

Behold, He stands, the lowly Nazarene;
Behold, He waits, outside the heart unclean.
Behold, He knocks, and pleads "May I come in
To cleanse your heart and life from all its sin?".
Oh, hear His voice, and make Him wait no more,
Invite Him in, and open wide the door.

Behold He came from Heaven, His Home above;
Behold, He died, to show His wondrous love;
Behold He lives! to prove God's mighty power
To save from sin and keep us every hour.
Oh, hear His voice, and make Him wait no more,
Invite Him in, and open wide the door.

Behold, His love, to suffer so for thee;
Behold His grace, to stand so patiently.
No other friend would you keep waiting so,
When He comes in, true peace and joy you'll know.
Oh, hear His voice, and make Him wait no more,
Invite Him in, and open wide the door.
