Fire in The Mountains

On the horizon an orange glow,
Trees and vegetation devoured by flame
Burned homes and scorched lives
Choking smoke obliterating landmarks
Ash blanketing the land -
The horrors of fire!

Fire may destroy beauty
Consume forests
Destroy buildings,
But it cannot devour the rock itself.
The mountains shall remain

Just as God our Father
Endures indestructible
In spite of the heat of opposition
Searing hatred
Blighting alienation.

Still He stands immovable
Unchanged
Eternal!
