I Must Be Worthy

I must be worthy of some pride

If for my soul the Saviour died.

He saw my life could have some worth

So He provided Second Birth

He saw me, not as full of sin

But cleansed me with his love within.

I need not then myself despise,

But looking through my Saviour's eyes,

See my potential as His child,

With guilt removed, now defiled.

And some day, in the better land,

Before His throne erect I'll stand,

Not cowering in guilt and shame,

(Nor proud that by My worth I came),

But praising Christ, Who for me died -

So I'd be worthy for some pride!
