In Your Image

Lord. Make me the best that I can be,
Not exactly like others I see.
But growing in purity of heart and mind
In likeness to Jesus, not humankind.

Cleansed from each evil word and thought,
By Your Holy Spirit led and taught.
O Jesus, direct my steps aright;
You be my shining example bright.

Other Christians following You
Are a wonderful joy and help me too.
But my desire must always be
That the image of Christ be seen in me.
