New Year's Twilight

I am standing today in the twilight
Nothing ahead can I see,
Behind me are memories only,
Before, Year Two Thousand and Three.

I may falter with some trepidation
But never alone shall I be;
The presence of my Heavenly Father
Forever will be beside me.

Praise God, He dispels every darkness
Of sin, unbelief and pride,
And we shall journey together
Walking closely, side by side.

His Spirit brings illumination
With every step I shall take,
So I may proceed in confidence
And assurance He'll never forsake.

So the present becomes much brighter
And the shadows all flee away;
Each tomorrow I'll bask in the sunshine
Christ brings to my life every day.
