Patient's Worship

This is the day the Lord has made,
I WILL rejoice and be glad.
Though my body lies on a hospital bed,
My spirit shall not be sad.

I'd like to be in church today,
To worship and to sing,
But God who is omniscient
Grace here to me will bring.

I'm grateful for the surgeon's skill
And tender nursing care;
For everyone who helps to make
Pain easier to bear.

I'm thankful for my Saviour's love,
His presence with me here.
Lord, help me now to so rejoice,
Some other I may cheer.

My spirit, unconfined by flesh
May rise on wings of joy,
And in God's presence find the peace
That suffering can't destroy.
