Precious to God

To myself I may seem worthless,
Full of fear and doubts and shame,
But to God, my Heavenly Father,
I am precious, praise His name!

It is not because I'm worthy
Of His wondrous love divine, But His great forgiving mercy
Makes complete acceptance mine.

How glorious to realize
There is nothing I need to do;
I never could deserve to be
Of value to God, could you?

Others may appear indifferent,
Showing little care or love,
But how wonderful the knowledge
Of my worth to God above!

Our God loves us so deeply
That He gave His dearest son
To obtain a full salvation
For each precious, wayward one.

And His love has no exceptions,
Even those who turn away;
But to those who do accept Him
He's more precious every day.

Oh, the glory and the wonder,
As this thrilling truth I see!
Since I came to understand it,
God's more precious now, to me.
