When All We Can Do is Pray

Sometimes, with deep compassion
We most sincerely say
“I wish there were some way to help,
But all I can do is pray”.

When you stop to think about it,
The greatest help of all
Is lifting troubled souls to God
Who hears us when we call.

For while they need a human touch
To help their burdens bear,
The choicest blessings are obtained
Through the avenue of prayer.

Sometimes there is so little
That one can do or say;
Then, in complete dependence,
All we need to do is pray.
